The Kraken and The Stars meet in the Second Round of the 2023 Hockey Playoffs

The Seattle Kraken finished the regular season with a 20-16-4 record at home. They went 26-11-4 on the road. Their home record was the worst of any playoff-bound team in the NHL. The Stars won two of the three regular season meetings between the teams. They also have home-ice advantage in the series. The Kraken will need to find a way to slow down the Stars’ top line of Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson, and Joe Pavelski. If they can do that, they will have a chance to win the series. The Kraken have a few players who could make a difference in the series. Yanni Gourde is a skilled forward who can score goals and create plays. Jared McCann is another forward who can contribute offensively. The Kraken’s defense is led by Mark Giordano, who is a former Norris Trophy winner. ┬áJake Oettinger and Philipp Grubauer are two of the best goalies in the NHL. Oettinger was named the NHL’s Rookie of the Month for April, and Grubauer was a Vezina Trophy finalist in 2021. Both goalies will need to be at their best if their team wants to win the series.
